[DeepMind][AGI] DeepMind researcher claims new AI could lead to AGI

This looks interesting. In May 2022, Google DeepMind released Gato, their “Generalist Agent”, which enables a single model with the same weights to perform a wide variety of tasks ranging from Atari games, robot control, NLP, etc. ( https://www.deepmind.com/publications/a-generalist-agent)

Now, one of the researchers at DeepMind behind this system claims that scaling up Gato would lead to AGI. This article provides some perspective on the claim, and some criticisms that have been raised.
